Our practice-oriented PhD programme combines research and practice at the highest level. Using application-oriented research methods, you will develop constructive and scientifically sound solutions for a forward-looking project within your organisation.

An international and practice-oriented PhD programme

The PhD programme has a standard duration of three years and is offered in collaboration with our international partner universities.

Comprehensive support during my PhD

The international and practice-oriented focus of the doctoral programme is complemented by personalised supervision throughout the entire duration of your studies. Two experienced supervisors will be on hand to offer you advice and support: one supervisor from the Steinbeis Centre of Management and Engineering and one supervisor from the respective partner university. Together, they will guide you every step of the way, from defining the scope of your doctoral project through the academic research process right up to the oral defence of your doctoral thesis.

Course structure the PhD

This international and practice-oriented PhD programme is complemented by personalised supervision from two experienced supervisors, who will guide and support you throughout your studies. One supervisor from the Steinbeis Centre of Management and Engineering and one supervisor from the respective partner university will provide you with expert guidance, from defining the scope of your doctoral project right through to the oral defence of your thesis.

  • Entry requirements

    • A completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degree (university, university of applied sciences, teacher training college) totalling 300 ECTS credits and a grade of 2.5 or higher
    • Very good command of English
    • Successful completion of the application process

Through the work-integrated PhD programme, I have the opportunity to carry out experiments in a practical setting and to apply the methods I have developed directly through pilot studies.
