What our Promotion participants

  • Nils Katzorke

I am convinced that science should not be practised as an end in itself, but should have the mission of bringing about a social benefit. The job-integrated doctorate gives me the opportunity to carry out experiments in a practical environment and apply the methods I have developed directly through pilot tests.

  • Maurice Bode

A practice-orientated doctorate makes it possible to apply the knowledge gained directly in everyday working life. Furthermore, the research is financially secure and is optimally supported by contact persons at the university, the employer and the project-providing company. The challenge of mastering such a project. It shapes your personality – you have to scrutinise your own resilience, structure and determination once again.

  • Dr Georg Lamers

Following my Master’s degree, I wanted to deepen my theoretical knowledge without losing touch with practice. In my experience, the combination of theory and practice can create great added value. I found what I was looking for in the Steinbeis Transfer Principle. Validating my research results directly through implementation in my partner company appealed to me more than the idea of writing a research paper that has little to do with the requirements of business practice and then gathering dust as one book among many on a bookshelf.

  • Dr Samuel Kunze

My aim was to write an application-orientated doctoral thesis. I wanted to work on a specific practical problem with a scientific solution and deliver a measurable benefit for the company. I was able to apply everything I developed directly in practice and received direct feedback.
